be participating in the Day of Caring on September 15 at the
Heritage Humane Society doing yard work and painting - we're also
looking at indoor, non-physical tasks for us to help with also. We
will be taking on a section of road through the Adopt a Highway
program after the election. Meanwhile, please let us know what
civic and charitable organizations you belong to so that we can post
a list on our web site showing our involvement in the
community.

PRESENTATION James City County Municipal Building C, 7:00 PM,
Free and Open to the Public Dr. Christine Llewellyn, Director of
the Williamsburg Climate Action Network, will give a 30 minute
powerpoint presentation on the proposed large coal-fired electric
plant in Surry County. She will cover background information,
health, environmental and economic effects of the plant on our area,
as well as clean alternatives. A question and answer period follows
the presentation.

the American Constitution - Williamsburg Library 515
Scotland Street 7:30 – 9 PM Constitutional Conversations is a
non-partisan, community-based education project designed to
send law students into the community to educate citizens about
their civic rights and duties. The project is developed and
maintained by the Student Division of the Institute of Bill of
Rights Law at the William & Mary Law
School.

York-JCC-Williamsburg NAACP golf tournament at the Kiskiac Golf
Club. Sponsored by the Williamsburg Police Department for the
benefit of various youth programs. 9 a.m. shotgun start and the
